Dayle Lynn Merrill's Obituary
Both of Jackson, Dayle passed away at her home June 23, 2017 at the age of 65 under the loving care of her family and Southern Care Hospice. Her brother, John, passed away at his home February 22, 2017 at the age of 68. Dayle was a graduate of Napoleon High School, worked at Bill Cones, the Brown Hut, West Point Grill and Barb's Country Café and owned and operated Moonshiners, her beauty salon for many years. She was an avid animal and nature lover. John was a graduate of Napoleon High School, served the nation in the US Navy, Vietnam War, attended Jackson Community College, retired from Gilbert Commonwealth as an Electrical Designer. He was a licensed small engine airplane pilot and a member of the Institute for the Certification of Engineering Technicians. He enjoyed fencing, golf and walking. He and his sister are survived by cousins, Deborah Sprague Clark and Melissa Sprague, life-long friends, Linda Lingard Price and Linda McKay Werve, special caregivers, Casey Wilkinson and John Frye, supportive neighbors and friends and Dayle by her beloved pets, Willow, Toby and Murphy. Both were preceded in death by their parents, James E. and Phyhllis L. (maiden-Sprague) Merrill. The family wishes to acknowledge the fine care and compassion of the Southern Care Hospice during Dayle's last days. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Cascades Humane Society and in his memory to the American Diabetes Association. Visitation will be held for Dayle on Wednesday, June 28, 2017, Roseland Memorial Gardens Chapel at 1:30 pm followed by a joint Celebration of both their lives at 2:00 pm.
