Debra Ann Bonar's Obituary
Debra Ann Bonar, 71, of Brooklyn passed away at Chelsea Hospital June 8, 2024. Debra’s family and friends will gather Wednesday, June 12, 2024, from 4:00pm – 7:00pm at Eineder Funeral Home – Brooklyn Chapel and Thursday, June 13, 2024, from 10:00am – 11:00am at St. Rita Catholic Church. Her Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at 11:00am at St. Rita Catholic Church. Fr. Amal Rayapillai, SdC will serve as celebrant. Deacon Chris Vida will serve as homilist.
Debra was born on October 20, 1952, in Garden City, Michigan to Ercole (Eric) and Clara (Elrod) Ursitti. Debra married the love of her life, Joseph Bonar, on July 12, 1974, at St. Hugo of the Hills Catholic Church in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Debra had a tremendous love for dogs and cats. She also enjoyed antiquing, shopping and decorating. Debra was an avid traveler and vacationed all around the world. Some of her favorite trips included Europe, Hawaii, and Alaska. She and her husband also traveled to Toronto many times over the years to attend various Broadway Shows. Debra had a great love for her family and especially cherished having her many nieces and nephews over to her home.
Debra will be greatly missed by her mother, Clara Ursitti; siblings, Charles (Patricia) Ursitti, Steven (Diana) Ursitti, and Matthew (Jennifer) Ursitti; brother in laws; James Bonar, John Michael (Diana) Bonar, and Gerald (Kelly) Bonar; sister in laws, Susan Mattox, Patricia (Donald) Robertson, and Mary (Daniel) Judd; uncle Bruce and aunt Brenda McKenzie and family, uncle Chuck and aunt Sue Brown and family, and aunt Alice Elrod; many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins and their families; and lifelong friend, Joan Warner and family. She is preceded in death by her father Eric, husband Joseph and uncle Don Elrod.
