Debra Sue Gerth's Obituary
Age 66, of Mackinaw City, formerly of the Jackson area, passed away Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at the McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey. Debra was born in Jackson, Michigan on Tuesday, March 29, 1955 to the late Carlos Dale and Shirley Ann (Cary) Crandall. She is survived by her husband of 46 years; Larry Gerth, three children; Christine (Brian) Dever, Vanessa (Ben) Hurley and Chad (Tracy Poxson) Gerth, eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, niece and nephew; Elizabeth and Jimmy. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her brother; Richard Crandall. A graduate of Napoleon High School, Class of 1973, she went on and earned her rating as a Medical Assistant. She was a devoted Air Force wife who moved frequently with her husband and family before settling back in the Jackson area. Debra was a talented cook and became a Sous Chef at the Ella Sharp Granary and also many years at the Jackson Country Club. She loved her children and grandchildren, loved to travel and visit Las Vegas where the family lived many years and was a Christian of the Baptist Faith. A Celebration of her Life will be held at the Cascades Manor House on Sunday, June 5, 2022 from 2-5 pm. Those who wish may make contributions in her memory to the American Heart Association.
