Delbert S. Berkeypile's Obituary
Age 93, of Jackson, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2016 under the care of Blue Ridge Care Home and Great Lakes Caring Hospice. He was born August 7, 1922 in Bridgewater, MI, the son of Donald and Florence (Shafer) Berkeypile. Delbert was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Violet; daughter, Dolores Bannister; sister, Lorena (Grant) Stephenson; brothers, Shirley, Sherman (Nancy), Doyle (Louise) and Donald Berkeypile; sister-in-law, Violet Berkeypile. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Delbert and Sue, of Dublin, OH; son-in-law, Rick Bannister of Parma; six grandchildren; several great and great-great-grandchildren; his sister, Jeanetta (Jack) Hatt of Ackerson Lake; brother, Albert Berkeypile of Minnesota; sisters-in-law, Irene and Mary Berkeypile, both of Napoleon; several wonderful nieces and nephews; special friends, Joe and Kathleen Thorrez and Cindy and Allen Orner. Delbert served in the U.S. Army in World War II and returned home to have a rewarding 60 plus year career with C. Thorrez Industries. At a young age, he earned his private pilot license and enjoyed flying. Delbert also enjoyed playing steel guitar with ""The Country Notes"" and cherished time spent with his family. As was his request, family services have been held and interment of his cremated remains at Hillside Cemetery in Addison will be held at a later date.
