Nancy Lessard
It’s been over a year since the loss of my dear husband Denis although it still feels like only yesterday but I can finally put into words how much I love and miss him as well as thank all those who loved him as well.
Thank you so much to everyone for sharing your kind words and memories. They meant so much to me.
Denis and I were very fortunate to have found each other and he filled a very huge and painful hole in my heart. He was not only the love of my life but also the joy in my heart.
He was the kindest and most giving person I have ever known and he treated me like a princess. Although many saw him as a wild and rough man, that wasn’t his true character but only his shield for the man he truly was. He was very kind, gentle, caring and generous and never lost his strong faith in God. He would give a stranger the shirt off his back and his last dime if in need.
Even after 30+ years together he remained a gentleman in our relationship. He opened doors for me, held my hand as we took walks, bought or picked flowers for me often, carried my purse as he stood protectively outside a public ladies bathroom patiently waiting for me, complimented me whenever I was unsure about myself, and provided well for our family (including cats and dogs), and worked very hard.
Our love for each other continued to grow through the years and I will always miss him.
