Deputy Chris Davis' Obituary
Dep. Christopher James Davis, 27, of Jackson, Michigan, sadly passed away Saturday, May 25, 2024, as the result of a traffic accident. Chris’ family and friends will gather from 2:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m., Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Eineder Funeral Homes – Michigan Center Chapel (Formerly Arthur-Day Funeral Home). His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 31, 2024, at Heart O’ the Lakes Church, in Brooklyn, Michigan, with family and friends gathering at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Cyle Young will serve as celebrant.
He was born on September 5, 1996, in Jackson, Michigan, to Michael “Moose” Alan and Heather Joy (Harvey) Davis. Chris married the love of his life, Alexandra Camille Eccleton, on October 15, 2022, in Albion, Michigan. He joined the Jackson Sheriff’s Office in August of that year and completed training at the Mid-Michigan Police Academy. Chris was recently assigned as a full-time deputy in Parma Township. He was honored with the Sheriff’s highest award, the Star of Valor, and was selected by the Michigan Sheriff's Association to receive the Distinguished Service Medal. Chris also received the Police Officers Association of Michigan Officer of the Year Award at their annual meeting this month. He had a profound passion for law enforcement.
Known for his constant smile and distinct laugh, Chris’ sense of humor was unmatched. He had the ability to improve any difficult situation. Chris was deeply dedicated to his family. Being the middle child, he had a unique way of bringing his siblings and parents together. He enjoyed hunting, motorcycles, music, and adored his two dogs, Rex and Zoey. Most of all he adored his wife Alex, whom he loved spending time with, vacationing to Mexico, and creating beautiful memories together.
Chris will be missed by his wife, Alex Davis; parents, Mike “Moose” and Heather Davis; siblings, Jake Fagan, Brandon (Alex) Fagan, Stephen Fagan, Matt (Brooke) Davis, Hayden (Kaytee Rogers) Davis, Chase Davis, Wyatt Davis, and Mackenzie Davis; grandfather, Alan Davis; several aunts and uncle; many nieces and nephews; and cousins.
