Diane Marie Peters' Obituary
Diane Marie Peters, 70, passed away Thursday, November 16, 2023.
She was born on April 13, 1953, in Stockbridge, Michigan to Wallace and Barbara Jean (Kissler) Stevens. Diane married the love of her life, John, on July 18, 2002, in Jackson, Michigan. Diane and John met online and after 2 months of talking online and getting to know each other, John took a chance and made the 550-mile trip to meet her in person, with one condition. If he were to make that trip, he was going to change her last name. It was true love; Diane did change her last name 3 days after meeting John in person.
Diane will be remembered as being fiercely independent. A take charge lady. If something needed to be done or handled, you could always count on Diane to take care of it. Diane was also someone that was so easy to love. Anyone in her family will attest to that, including her children’s childhood friends, who to this day still refer to her as Mom. Diane was not only independent, but she also demanded respect. And she received that respect. If you did or said something that she did not approve of, she would roll and bite her tongue!!
Diane will be missed by her beloved John and special dog, Lillie; her children, Benjamin (Amy) Eberly, Donna (Lee) Paquette, Gerald (Stacia) Eberly; siblings, Rick (Joy) Stevens, Rod (Missy) Stevens; grandchildren Kyle Reason, Damien Britten, Zachary Britten, Trent Beaudoin, Marshal Beaudoin, Paige Eberly, Hannah Eberly; and great grandchildren, Maddox Bohnett and Nikoli Britten. She is preceded in death by her parents, Wallace and Barbara Jean Stevens and brother, Jeffrey P. Stevens.
