Donald Ira Barringer III's Obituary
Donald Ira Barringer of Jackson, Michigan passed away peacefully January 19, 2023, with his loving family by his side. Barry’s family and friends will gather Tuesday, January 24, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Eineder Funeral Homes – Michigan Center Chapel. His funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. following the visitation at 10:00 a.m.
He was born on February 11, 1954, in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Donald and Geraldine (Murphy) Barringer II. He will be remembered as the first person in Grass Lake, Michigan to wear bell bottoms. In addition to bringing that fashion trend to Grass Lake, Barry was an avid music lover, guitarist and enjoyed the game of golf. He also enjoyed spending time with his cat, Walter. Barry was a Grass Lake graduate class of 1972, joined the Marine Corps after graduation. He then followed up by joining the National Guard, where he proudly served in operations Desert Storm and Desert Shield. Barry was also a member of the Three Horse Club, VFW in Springfield, Illinois and a member of the local Jackson American Legion. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Barry will be missed by his children, Colleen Bard (David) and Katelyn Davi (Billy Tenney); sister Diane Cochran (Craig Simmons); and grandchildren Madelyn, Britton, Charlee and Cassidy and many nieces and nephews, including close family friends, Julie and Dennis Shay. He is preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Geraldine Barringer.
