Donald Herman Hinton, 82, of Jackson, passed away in Albion, Michigan, on Tuesday, January 23, 2024.
Don was born on October 5, 1941, in Jackson, Michigan to Charles and Grace (Farwyke) Hinton. He married the love of his life, Ellen, on May 22, 1961, in Jackson, Michigan. Don loved fishing, watching Nascar racing, hunting, and working on anything with an engine. He raced cars, worked in a copper mine in the Upper Peninsula. He later moved to Wyoming and took a job at General Chemical, where he drove a buggy in the mines until he retired.
Don will be missed by his children, Donnasue Hinton, David Hinton, Daniel (Cathy) Hinton, Donald Hinton Jr., Ellen “Renee” (Shane) Gofourth, David (Melanie) Delaet; 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Ellen J. Hinton, his parents, Charles, and Grace, and his 14 brothers and sisters.
