Donald Blase Shubert's Obituary
Donald Blasé Shubert, 71, of Brooklyn, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at Hospice of Lenawee, Adrian, Michigan . Don’s family and friends will gather Monday, November 13, 2023 from 10:00 am- 11:00 am at St. Joseph Shrine Catholic Church, 8743 U S 12, Brooklyn, Michigan. His Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am following visitation. Interment will be at 2:15 pm at United Memorial Gardens, 4800 Curtis Road, Plymouth, Michigan 48170. Fr. Bob Pienta will serve as celebrant.
He was born on February 3, 1952 in Dearborn Heights, Michigan to Edward and Jennie (Kazmerski) Shubert. He will be remembered as being a generous soul that was always there for his family. Don was a graduate of Garden City High School, Garden City, class of 1971. He enjoyed woodworking, making many items for his family and friends. Don also enjoyed singing in the choir, playing his guitar and harmonica, along with driving his Ford pickup around Brooklyn. He had a great sense of humor and a gift for gab. Don loved telling his stories, even being a published poet. He was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus, Irish Hills #6223 and a very active parishioner of the St. Joseph Shrine Catholic Church. He cherished his family above all. Don will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Don is survived by his siblings, Margaret (Vincent) McShane, Edmund (Marie) Shubert and Virginia (Robert) Walby; along with five nieces and five nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Jennie; brother, David and a nephew, Mark Walby.
