Donna Jean Board's Obituary
Donna Jean Board (VanEpps), 91, of Jackson Michigan passed away June 9, 2024. Donna’s family and friends will gather Sunday, June 16, 2024, 5PM-7 PM. with Lodge of Sorrow by the F.O.E. Post 612 at 7 PM. On Monday, June 17, 2024 at 10AM there will be a gathering and at 11 AM service at Eineder Funeral Homes – Michigan Center Chapel (Formerly Arthur-Day Funeral Home). Interment to follow at Roseland Memorial Park. Pastor Christina Murphy of Horton Congregational Church will serve as celebrant.
She was born on September 15, 1932, in Jackson Michigan to Robert and Ethel (Markham) Whiting. Donna will be remembered as a kind and outgoing person. She was known for her many talents and tried her hand at everything including painting, cake decorating, upholstery and crocheting. She also played the piano and was a Nanny to the children of two families, taking care of them from the time they were infants until they finished high school. Donna was also involved with the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge 612 in Jackson for many years and was a former State Madame President. But most of all she loved her family fiercely.
Donna will be missed by her children, Cheryl (John) Teegardin, Randy (Josephine) VanEpps, Janice Thomas, Clyde (Nancy) VanEpps and daughter-in-law Sharon VanEpps; sisters Shirley Kurzynowski and Judy Smith; 8 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands Elbert Board and Homer VanEpps; brother Robert Whiting, Jr.; son, Douglas VanEpps; grandson Brian VanEpps; son-in-law Mike Thomas and sister Ethel Hayes.
