Donna Marie Burk's Obituary
Donna Marie Burk, 87, of Brooklyn, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home, Jackson. Donna’s family and friends will gather Wednesday, May 29, 2024 from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Eineder Funeral Homes - Brooklyn Chapel. Her funeral service will be held Thursday, May 30, 2024 at 11:00 am following the visitation from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at the Heart O’the Lakes United Brethren Church, 7031 Jefferson Road, Brooklyn, MI. Burial to follow immediately at Roseland Memorial Gardens. Pastor Tim Flickenger and Pastor Josh Weix will serve as co-officiants.
She was born on March 12, 1937, in Sylvania, Ohio to Wayne and Vivian (Harden) Jackman. Donna married the love of her life, Harold Burk, Jr., on June 25, 1955, in Brooklyn, Michigan. They had 52 wonderful years together until his passing in 2007. She will be remembered for her strong faith and love of the lake. Donna was a 1955 graduate of Brooklyn High School. She was employed at the Beach Bar in Clarklake for over 25 years as the “Soup Lady”. Donna also babysat for many local families. She was always very proud of having a hand on how the children turned out. Donna was a long-time member of the Heart O’ the Lakes United Brethren Church. She loved all things to do with lake life, swimming, kayaking and was known for her daily walks as the “Walking Lady”. Donna enjoyed traveling as well as her solitude. She was an avid U of M fan, “Go Blue”. Above all Donna loved her family, was a great mom and amazing cook. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Donna is survived by her loving children, Troy (Jennifer) Burk, Lisa (Joe) Weix and Todd (Christine) Burk; her sister, Linda (Jim) Smith; grandchildren Brennan (Jen), Kimberlynn, Rebecca (Luke), Josh (Jenna), Jared, Zach, Josiah, Rachel, Florence, Faith, Christian, Camden (Julio) , Hope (Tim ) and Abbey; and four great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and many special friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold; and a brother, Tom Jackman.
