Donovan Delbert Berkeypile, Sr's Obituary
Age 77, lifelong resident of Napoleon, passed away Monday October 25, 2021 at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing. He was born February 13 1944 in Jackson, MI, the son of Shirley E. and Betty I. (Andrews) Berkeypile. He was preceded in death by his wife; Mary Ann (Laymon) Berkeypile in 2008, brothers; Sherman Berkeypile and Terry Berkeypile and his sister; Shirley Berkeypile. He is survived by two sons; Donovan D. Berkeypile Jr. and Alan (Denyse) Berkeypile, three grandchildren; Spencer, Zoey and Ayva Berkeypile, two brothers; Roland Berkeypile and David (Pam) Burk, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Donovan was a graduate of Napoleon High School Class of 1963. He served the nation in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He retired after 35 years in the Graphics Department at Consumers Energy. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed Karaoke, with his musical moniker being "The Singing Cowboy". He was a member of the Harvest Baptist Church and drove the Church Bus for 20 years. Services will be held at the funeral home Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at 11 am with Pastor Bobby Toler officiating. Interment Oak Grove Cemetery, Napoleon, MI. Graveside Military Honors will be offered by the Jackson County American Legion Ritual Team. The family will receive friends Monday, November 1, 2021 at the funeral home 5-8 pm. Contributions in his memory are directed to Gift of Life Foundation. Many knew his passion for fishing. Those who wish may bring in a fishing lure to place with him so he will be well equipped for an eternity at the big fishing hole in the sky.
