Dorothy Ann Obuchowski's Obituary
Age 91, of Leoni Township, passed away Monday, November 29, 2021 at the Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home. She was born in Jackson, Michigan Wednesday, April 16, 1930 to the late John and Clara F. (Maryanski) Arasim Sr. Dorothy is survived by her sister; Theresa Marie (Arasim) O'Dell, three nieces; Theresa (Carl) Craig, Barbara (Mac) Fowler and Christine (Lee) Butler, nephew; Charles Edward Arasim, sisters-in-law; Dorothy (Obuchowski) Lowe, Louise (Ron) Obuchowski) Andrews and Joan Obuchowski Anderson, several great-nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband; Thad "Obie" Obuchowski in 2007, three brothers; Raymond, Leo and John Arasim and her beloved pets; the dog Bandit and the cat Alex. Dorothy was a graduate of Michigan Center High School and went on to earn an Associate's Degree. She worked many years as a secretary at Lessenger Elementary School in Oak Park, Michigan where she loved working with the kids. She and her husband enjoyed travelling, once drove to Alaska and have visited all the National Parks. Dorothy loved America. She was an admirer of farm life and loved the animals. Dorothy was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Parish where a Memorial Mass will be held Friday December 3, 2021 at 12:30 pm with Father Tim Macdonald officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to service time. Her cremated remains will be interred next to her beloved Obie at St. Johns Cemetery at a later date. Theresa wishes to give a special thank you to Dorothy's wonderful caregivers; Eddie Markiewicz and Chris and Lee Butler. Contributions in her memory are directed to the Cascades Humane Society or Our Lady of Fatima Parish.
