Douglas Lee Dennis' Obituary
Douglas Lee Dennis, 65, of Jackson, Michigan, went to be with the Lord on April 13, 2026. He passed peacefully, surrounded by loving family. Family and friends are invited to his visitation on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm with his funeral service to be held at 12:00 pm at Eineder Funeral Homes – Brooklyn Chapel, Brooklyn, Michigan. Burial will follow immediately at Somerset Cemetery.
Doug was born on November 16, 1960, in Jackson, Michigan, to Sandra Dennis and George Sunderman, and was later adopted by Joseph Dennis Sr., who lovingly raised him as his own son. Doug attended Addison Schools, where he wrestled in high school, and graduated in 1978. He will be remembered by all who knew and loved him as a kind‑hearted, gentle soul who, loved football and in his later years, most looked forward to visiting his mom for a home‑cooked meal.
Doug will be dearly missed by his son, Douglas Dennis Jr.; his granddaughter, Avril (Hunter) Dennis, Grandson Douglas Dennis; his mother, Sandra Dennis; his siblings, Donald (Marie) Dennis, Joseph (Jody) Dennis, and Beth (Jim) Sawdey; Mike (Leslie) Gove (who was raised beside him), and many loving relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Dennis Sr., and his grandparents, Don (Marvel) Dennis, Leon (Marge) Gove, and Ida Gove.
