Douglas Dean Harsch's Obituary
Age 79, of Michigan Center, passed away peacefully at his home Sunday October 25, 2020 surrounded by his loving family and under the care of Residential Hospice. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Barbara Jean (maiden-Wilkes) Harsch, three children; Douglas (Beth) Harsch of South Bend, Indiana, Joy (Don) McCaughey of Las Vegas, Nevada and Trisha (Jason Geniesse) Kemp of Michigan Center, grandchildren; Nigel, Taylor (Julia) Jacob, Mary and Alexis Harsch, David (Sierra) Walker, Millicent (Charles) Emmons and Charles Kemp, great-grandchildren; Olivia and Addalyn Harsch, Quinn and John Paul Kemp, brother: Jerry (Margie) Horsch, sister; Judy (Bill) Ives, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Paul Harsch, grandson; Nicholas Harsch, three sisters; Bonnie Hilder, Linda DeLate and Jane Lantis, brother Monte Gene Harsch and his parents; Maynard S. and Millicent Marie (maiden-Lindsey) Harsch. Mr. Harsch proudly served the nation in the US Army and was a retired letter carrier with the United States Postal Service. He loved camping out and travelling. Services will be held at the funeral home Friday, October 30, 2020 at 11 am with Pastor Larry Rubingh officiating. Military Honors by the Jackson County American Legion Ritual Team will be offered. Cremation to follow. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening 6-8 pm. Contributions in his memory are directed to the Alzheimers's Association.
