Douglas Keith Keirns' Obituary
Age 76, of Goodyear, AZ, formerly of Summit Township, passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2020 under the loving care of family and Savior Hospice. Doug is survived by children, Danette (John) Ponce, Theresa Ryan and Jennifer (Kevin) Claucherty; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; three siblings, Carol Lucas, Lola (Allen) Nesser and Susan Newsom (Larry Olney); mother of his children, Dana Keirns; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 33 years, Helga in 2018; brothers, George (infant) and Thomas (Vietnam); brother-in-law, Luke Lucas and parents, Ray and Ruth (Vian) Keirns. Doug was a 1963 graduate of East Jackson High School; then went on to work 32 years at Jackson Diecast and 7 years at Chelsea Milling before retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, Wii sports and was a diehard Tiger Baseball fan. He was a Charter Member of the Bishop Zaleski Council 6687 Knights of Columbus at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 913 Napoleon Road in Michigan Center on Monday, September, 21, 2020 at 11:00 am with Father Satheesh Alphonse, SdC officiating. Interment will follow at Roseland Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at Arthur-Day Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 to 5 pm and at the church on Monday beginning at 10am.
