Douglas Earl Maitland's Obituary
Douglas Earl Maitland, 66, of Brooklyn, passed away at home on January 11, 2025. Douglas’ family and friends will gather from 1:00 pm -2:00 pm, Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses 1500 Park Dr., Jackson. His funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm. Elder, Curt Butler of the South Jackson Congregation, Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses will officiate.
Douglas was born on February 20, 1958, in Jackson, Michigan, to Jack and Mary (Stead) Maitland. He graduated from Hanover/ Horton schools in 1976, on February 17, 1978. Douglas married the love of his life, Pamela Kay Ebersole, at Sharon United Methodist Church in Manchester. He will be remembered as someone who loved his “job” in carpentry, reading, gardening, working in his yard, playing his guitar and watching Sci-Fi movies. He was an active member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Jackson.
Douglas will be missed by his wife of 47 years, Pamela; his children, Jessica Lynn (Kit) Cowger, Joshua Douglas Maitland, Jolina Dawn (Lucas Gates) Maitland; siblings, Fran Maitland, David (Becky) Maitland, Bonnie (Brent) Withrow; grandchild, Phillip Daniel Maitland; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Mary Maitland and brother, Stevie Maitland.
