Duane Alfred Rodenberg
(February 26, 1928 – June 16, 2020)
Age 92, passed away June 16, 2020 at the Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home in Jackson, Michigan.
He was born February 26, 1928 in the garage of the family homestead on Geddes Road, Canton Township, Michigan, as the house wasn’t completed yet. His parents were Charles A. and Bessie (Smith) Rodenberg.
He retired in 1984 from Quality Control at Ford Motor Company, having also worked at The University of Michigan and Central Specialty in his early years.
He enjoyed traveling with family and friends and spent many winters in Florida.
He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, camping, boating, snowmobiling, and water sports, many at his cottage on Long Lake, Hale, Michigan.
He was a fan of and attended many Detroit Tiger and University of Michigan football games.
He is survived by: children Dennis (Susan) Rodenberg (who both provided loving care in his last months), Brenda (Ray) Lutrzykowski, Diana (Bruce) Calhoun, Vicki Stonebraker, son-in-law Louis Christiansen, 11 grandchildren, and many great and great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends, and family of Vanessa Jones. He was loved and will be missed by all.
He is preceded in death by: his parents Charles and Bessie, siblings Dean, Carl, Jerald and Phylis (Jack) Schaufele, daughter Karen (Louis) Christiansen, son-in-law Kevin Stonebraker and wives, Louise (Davison) Rodenberg and Joe-Ann Rodenberg.
His ashes will be buried in Denton Cemetery, Denton, Michigan. A celebration of life will be scheduled for a later date. Donations can be made to Hospice in his name. Please leave a message of comfort for Duane’s family or sign his guestbook at www.einederfuneralhomes.com.
