Edward Paul Sarata's Obituary
Age 95, of Leoni Township, passed away at Henry Ford Allegiance Health on Tuesday, October 26, 2021. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jean E. Sarata in 2018; his parents, John and Mary (Molotkiewicz) Sarata; brother, Zigmond Sarata (died in World War II); and sisters, Helen Buck, Stella Sarata, Sophie White and Pauline Kurzynowski.
Ed is survived by his beloved family, his daughter, Mary Sarata; two grandchildren, Lacey Campbell and Brandon (Jessica) Campbell; two great-grandsons, Andrew and Benjamin Campbell; two step-great-granddaughters, Eve and Sarah Huber; several nieces and nephews.
His family would like to give special thanks to longtime neighbor Jack Burris, who was always there as Ed's "Good Samaritan" who went the extra mile always with his special acts of kindness consistently. There was never a special favor that Jack would not do for Ed.
He was a Naval Veteran of World War II, serving from 1943 to 1946 in the Atlantic and Pacific and was a signalman on the aircraft carrier CV4 USS Ranger. Ed worked many years and retired from Ford Motor Company. He was a member of VFW Post #823 and the American Legion Rose City Post #324.
Cremation has taken place and no visitation or services will be held. His cremated remains will be interred at St. John's Catholic Cemetery.
