Elaine Ann Forfinski's Obituary
Elaine Ann Forfinski, 78, of Jerome, Michigan passed away peacefully with her family by her side, Thursday, March 2, 2023 at Faith Haven Senior Care Centre, Jackson. Elaine’s family and friends will gather Monday, March 27, 2023 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at St. Rita Catholic Church. Her Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am The interment of ashes will be at the St. Rita Catholic Church Columbarium. Fr. Tom Helfrich, OSFS will serve as celebrant.
She was born on May 13, 1944, in Detroit, Michigan to John and Mary (Burch) Koly. Elaine married the love of her life, Chester Forfinski, on September 19, 1964 in Detroit, Michigan. Elaine will be remembered as a caring, sharing, loving person with a beautiful smile. She is a graduate of the former Chadsey High School. Elaine loved to try new things, especially cooking. She had a book of 58 new recipes that she tried out on her family. Elaine cherished her time with her grandchildren teaching them new things, crafting, projects, etc. She referred to her domestic duties as a love language. Elaine was a former member of the PEO’s (Philanthropic Education Organization) and the Bedford Dandy Lions Club. She is member of the St. Rita Catholic Church. Christmas was her all time favorite time of year. She loved everything about Christmas, the baking, wrapping gifts, hosting the family dinner and especially the decorating. Elaine will greatly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Elaine is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Chester; her children, Karen (David) Eha, Scott (Denise) Forfinski and Julie (Michael) Nicholson;); a brother, John (Arlene) Koly of St. Louis, Missouri; grandchildren Mackenzie, Mitchell (Hayley), and Madelyn Kontak; Emma and Max Forfinski, Kaden and Delaney Nicholson; a cousin, Diane Wheeler of Lodi, California and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Rita and brother-in-law, Dean.
