Elizabeth Cryderman's Obituary
Elizabeth Drummond Cryderman, 79, of Brooklyn, Michigan passed away on Monday, October 9, 2023, at Henry Ford Hospital- Jackson. Elizabeth’s family and friends will gather at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Brooklyn Presbyterian Church. Her funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM. Her brother-in-law, Rik Cryderman will officiate the service.
Elizabeth was born on October 19, 1944, in Dumbarton, Scotland to Dennis and Catherine (Marshall) McKenna. She married the love of her life, Dale Cryderman, on August 22, 1964, in Jackson, Michigan. They were happily married for 52 years and had two children. Elizabeth immigrated to America from Scotland with her mother in 1955. She and her mother, Catherine, lived in Detroit until Elizabeth came to the Jackson area to attend college at Spring Arbor University. She met her husband Dale in college. Elizabeth enjoyed many years as a stay-at-home mom and then later worked for Jackson District Library as a librarian. She was elected as the president of the WMFI, Women’s Missionary Fellowship International, where she traveled to many countries representing the Free Methodist Church during her term as President. By far her favorite things in the world were spending time with Dale or visiting with her grandchildren.
Elizabeth will be missed by her children, Brent (Joann) Cryderman, and Lisa Cryderman; grandchildren Chloe (Mitchell), Tessa, Brooklyn, Ryan (Elizabeth), Jessie (Victor), and Hale; great grandchildren, Clara Jane, Theodore, Sophia Mari, and Chesney; her best friend Sherry Thompson and many other extended family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her mother Catherine and her husband Dale.
