Ernest Duane Pickering's Obituary
Age 87, of Leoni Township, passed away Saturday, February 19, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Ernest was born in Jackson, Michigan on Tuesday, December 4, 1934 to the late Ernest and Eunice (Kimmel) Pickering. He is survived by four children; Debra (Kent) Fasick, Pameula (Chris) Clark, Sherry (Michael Churchill) Pickering and Ernest Pickering Jr., fourteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lynda L. (Smith) Pickering in 2013, sister; Wanita Blair, brother; Ronald Pickering and his beloved canine pal; Angel. He was a retired machinist from Yo Manufacturing. He and his late wife enjoyed square dancing and bowling. Ernest loved to hunt, fish and play horseshoes. He was a devoted husband and father whose main focus was taking care of his family. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service to honor his life will be held at Arthur-Day Funeral Home Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at 7 pm. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time.
