Eugene Wilson, 89, of Jackson Michigan passed away peacefully under the loving care of his family and Hospice, December 8, 2025. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Eugene was born on February 13, 1936, in Salyersville, Kentucky to Nathan and Maggie (Craft) Wilson. After school, Eugene joined the United States Army and proudly served his country. Years later he married the love of his life, Lourdes Garcia, on August 13, 1985, in Jackson, Michigan and they enjoyed 40 years together. He will be remembered as a kind, interesting and intelligent man with a big heart. He enjoyed reading, often finishing a paperback in one night. Eugene also loved to watch Westerns, listen to country music, play cards, especially poker and solve crossword puzzles. In his younger days, Eugene was an amateur fighter and also judged boxing and the Tough Man contest here in Jackson. He had a passion for flying his Cessna aircraft, frequently taking a passenger with him, especially his children. But most of all Eugene found his greatest joy spending time with his family.
Eugene will be missed by his wife of 40 years Lourdes; his children, Jennifer (Kevin) Glassel, Mark (Cathy) Wilson, Maria (James) Aquino. Jerry Gosnell, Brian Wilson, Brenda Carr and Penny Bennett; grandchildren Emma, Justin, Kayleigh, Taylor, Nicholas, Jorge, Diego, Hayden, Karsyn, Sophia, Luka, Leonardo, Metias, Catalina, Anastasia and Esmerelda; and many other relatives. He is preceded in death by his previous wife, Emma, his parents Nathan and Maggie, his siblings, his grandson Verlandez and great granddaughter, Alice.
