Eulalia A. West's Obituary
Age 90, of Ackerson Lake, passed away Friday, November 1, 2019, peacefully at home with her children by her side. Lala was born on October 11, 1929, in Jackson, MI, to Glenn & Marie Fraser. She was the sole member of the Ackerson Lake Polar Bear Club. She was the widow of Phillip B. West and is survived by 7 children, Chris & Jackie West, Gary & Ruth West, Gail & Shawn Rankin, Kurt West, Barry & Sandy West, Beth & Jack Gilbert, and Rebecca & Gary Inman, as well as by her sister, Fay Fransted. She was grandmother to 18 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Lala was preceded in death by her parents; son, Greg West and her siblings, Nancy O'Leary, Donald Fraser, Jeane Dewitt, Glenna Withee and Jay Fraser. She so loved her children and family, who enjoyed many wonderful meals thanks to her gardening, canning, and cooking expertise. Lala loved swimming even into early winter in her beloved Ackerson Lake, where she grew up from childhood. She enjoyed playing golf in the Ella Sharp Park League and was also a member of a bowling league. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 9 from 10-11 a.m., with Rosary and Funeral Mass to follow at 11 a.m., all to be held at St. Mary's Star of the Sea Church in Jackson. A luncheon will follow in Star Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary's.
