Eunice J. Fenton's Obituary
Fenton, Eunice J., (maiden-Bowman), Age 91, slipped peacefully into the arms of her Heavenly Father August 26, 2014 at Heartland Healthcare in Jackson. Eunice was born June 17, 1923 in Grass Lake, MI to Sherman and Mary (maiden-Lekrone) Bowman. She graduated from Grass Lake High School in 1940; then attended Jackson Business College. She was a proofreader at R L Polk Co. for many years. Her greatest joys were visiting family, cooking and participating in Church activities. As a child and young woman she attended the Grass Lake Methodist Church. After living in Middleville, MI for several years she returned to Vandercook Lake in 1980 and joined the Brookside Methodist Church. She enjoyed singing in the choir, United Methodist Women and the Golden Agers. Eunice believed in sharing everything God blessed her with. Her beautiful, bright smile will be so missed. She is survived by three children, James S. (Cindy) Stump, Jeanne Sloan and Lainey Stump, seven grandchildren, Brian Stump, Amber Stump, Erik Caloni, Gerard Sloan, Cynthia (Eric) Taylor, Joshua Burkhart and Katie Stanley, five great-grandchildren, Bethany Higgins, Dean Lowe, Travis Taylor, Trent Taylor and Jett Taylor, three great-great-grandchildren, Mckenzie, Brendan and Jordyn and her dear sister Catherine (Harlan) Cooley. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Lee Stump, Kenneth Soper, Robert Heathcote, Richmond Fenton, her parents, brothers Ralph and Bryan Bowman, sisters Erma Lester and Judith Vreeland and grandson Joseph Sloan. Services will be held at the Brookside United Methodist Church Friday, August 29, 2014 at 11 am with Pastor Ronald Brooks officiating. Interment Roseland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6-8 pm. Contributions in her memory are directed to the church.
