Flora Ann Kemp's Obituary
Flora Ann Kemp, 85, of Brooklyn Michigan passed away on September 20, 2024, at Henry Ford Jackson Hospital. Flora’s family and friends will gather from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on September 24, 2024 at Eineder Funeral Homes - Brooklyn Chapel and from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. on September 25, 2024 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Brooklyn, MI with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Bryan Varblow will serve as celebrant. The internment will take place at Highland Cemetery in Brooklyn, Michigan immediately following the service
She was born on October 27, 1938, in Hollywood, Georgia to Marion John and Lucy Kate (Norris) Lumpkin. Ann married the love of her life, Kenneth Karl Kemp, on May 26, 1956, in Dearborn, Michigan and they enjoyed 68 happy years together. She worked for many years as a cook and also as a pastry chef. Ann loved to bake and is fondly remembered for her cakes, which she would make for family and friends on every occasion. Ann was a devoted member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church for many years. She also belonged to the Good Sam's Club. In her free time, Ann enjoyed spending time with family, camping, and doing crafts. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Ann is survived by her loving husband Kenneth, her children, Martin (Patrice), Stephen, and Neal (Melissa); siblings, Emily Barr and Larry Lumpkin; ten grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her son David Kemp; sister Doris Smith; and parents.
