Florence M. Hammond's Obituary
HAMMOND, FLORENCE M. Age 88, of Jackson, passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward in 2002; brothers, Howard and Robert Bush. Surviving are three children, Valerie (Richard) Jabkiewicz, Terry E. (Tina) Hammond and Yvonne (Richard) Schultz; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; her special friends, Barb Davis and Muriel Ort. Florence was a Life Member of St. Johns United Church of Christ, member of the Michigan Center Lioness Club and was a Licensed Practical Nurse, working over the years at Mercy Hospital, Tompkins-Johnson and retiring from Bendix Corporation. Services will be held at St. Johns United Church of Christ, 801 S. Mechanic St. in Jackson on Friday at 11 am with Reverend Dr. Susan K. Weier officiating. Cremation will follow the services. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. Contributions in her memory may be directed to St. Johns United Church of Christ or the Michigan Center Lioness Club.
