Florence Lucille Matteson's Obituary
Age 92, of Brooklyn, former longtime resident of Napoleon Township, passed away at Henry Ford Allegiance Health on Wednesday, April 29, 2020. Florence is survived by her beloved family, son, Barry Pratt; daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Gerald "Knick" Knickerbocker; sisters, Wilma Elliott and Marjorie Watts; sister in-law, June A. Aiken, many nieces, nephews and friends. Florence was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Millard "Bud" in 2009; siblings, Phyllis (Marlin) Hatt, Floyd Aiken and Harry (June P.) Aiken; siblings-in-law, George Elliott and Carlton Watts. In her early working career, Florence worked the assembly line at Ford, retiring in 1973 to be mom and wife full time. She was a longtime member of the Clarklake Community Church and was a volunteer at Foote Hospital's Lifeline Program. She and Bud enjoyed traveling the country in their fifth-wheel trailer and visiting casinos. Under the current restrictions, private services will be held and she will be interred beside her late husband Bud at Roseland Memorial Gardens. Contributions in her memory are directed to the Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home.
