Floyd Junior Aiken's Obituary
Age 92, of Jackson, entered into eternal peace on Friday, February 27, 2015 at Allegiance Health. Floyd was born July 29, 1922 in Brooklyn, MI, the son of Paul and Ethel (Mills) Aiken. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Harry. Floyd is survived by the love of his life, his beloved wife of over 68 years, June A. (Saunt); his loving memory will also be cherished by three children, Larry (Patsy) Aiken, Doreen (Robert) Williams and Jerry Aiken; five grandchildren, Brit Pelham, Cammy (David) Fraaza, Jennifer (Joshua) Hunziker, Brandy Aiken and Lance Aiken (fiancAC.e Ashley Caron); five great-grandchildren, Ja'Kia Aiken, Maverick Pelham, Halle and Brinley Fraaza and Jacob Hunziker; sisters, Wilma (George) Elloitt, Phyllis Hatt, Marjorie Watts and Florence Matteson; sister-in-law, June P. Aiken; many nieces and nephews. He served in World War II in the U.S. Navy, from 1941 - 1945 aboard the U.S.S. Breton and Shamrock Bay in the Pacific Theater. Floyd retired from Ford Motor Company in 1978 with over 30 years of service. Over the years, he and June enjoyed wintering in Florida, traveling, camping, gardening and going to their grandchildren's sporting events. Their greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service to celebrate Floyd's life will be held at the Clarklake Community Church on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 11:00 am with visitation beginning at 10:00 am. Pastor John Reed will be officiating and Military Honors will be given by the Brooklyn American Legion Wilber-Bartlett Post #315. A luncheon will follow the services.
