Floyd David Higby's Obituary
Age 96, of Napoleon Township, passed away at the Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home November 11, 2020. He is survived by two children; David (Brenda) Higby and Judy Queen, grandchildren; Michelle (Brian) Phelan, Catherine (Geoff) Vannerson, David (Stacie) Higby, Amy (Will), Jenny (James), Steve Queen, Shawn (Tim) Messner, Shane (Lori) Stump and many great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Rosemary (maiden-Dolson) Higby, daughter; Mary Barringer and granddaughter Terry Lee Higby. Floyd served the nation in the US Army fighting in the ETO World War II. He was a gifted body shop painter and collision expert who worked at many local firms and Art Moehn Chevrolet. He was a founding member of the National Museum US Army (1775 Liberty Street, Fort Belvoir, Virginia 22060). Private services for Mr. Higby were held and he was interred next to his wife in Roseland Memorial Gardens. Pastor Jim Wiech, Faith Baptist Chapel officiating. Military honors were provided by the Jackson County American Legion Ritual Team. Contributions in his memory are directed to the National Museum US Army at the address above.
