Frances Ilene Ziegler, 85, passed away Friday, April 30, 2021 at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital in Jackson, Michigan. Frances’s family and friends will hold a memorial service at a later date in Modesto, California.
She was born on August 30, 1935, in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Marvin and Mabel (Shipley) Petersen. Frances married, Stanley Ziegler, 18 years ago, in Modesto, California. She will be remembered as a very sweet, loving, compassionate, person that loved her family. In her early years, she was a member of the League of Woman Voters, and WOW (Women of Wisdom). Frances had a strong faith and was a long-time member of the First Christian Church in Modesto, California. She retired after 23 years of service as a Purchasing Agent at Memorial Hospital in Modesto, California.
Frances is survived by her husband Stanley; her children, Denise (David) Nordell, Lynda (George) Stough, Eric (Jennifer) Petersen, Denise (Joe) Francis, Kelly Houston, Shawn Ulrich, Shane Ulrich, Rick (Lori) Ziegler and Sharon Lang; her siblings, Carol Gardner and Donald Petersen; her grandchildren, Melinda Haggstrom, Nathan Stough, Leslie Townsend, Spencer Petersen, Wesley Petersen, Taryn Constantino, Carson Ulrich, Cooper Ulrich, Liberty Francis, Jill Francis and Leah Francis; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, and husbands Frederick Petersen, Jack Ulrich and William Houston.
