Frank "Bud" Douglass Lane's Obituary
Frank “Bud” Douglass Lane, age 88, of Brooklyn, Michigan, passed away to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 13, 2025, while surrounded by his loving family. Frank was the son of Herman and Edith (Peterson) Lane. He was a devoted husband of 67 years to the love of his life, Barbara (Weible) Lane.
Frank was born and raised on the Turk Rd. family farm, where he carried on the tradition of his family’s love of farming. On this farm, he raised his own family, consisting of six daughters. Frank lived his entire life at this farm.
Frank graduated from Brooklyn High School with the class of 1954 and attended Ferris State College for Auto Mechanics and also Bailey Diesel.
Frank worked at the Ford Motor Company in Brooklyn, and then transferred to Ford Motor Company in Saline, where he worked as a Journeyman Millwright and retired after 30 years. Frank was an enthusiastic mechanic of all things, as well as, specifically, enjoying his time in his garden.
His family, however, was his passion.
Frank is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara; his children, Lucinda (Brad) Skinner, Sandra (Doug) Raby, Brenda (Patrick) Collins, Donna (Nathan) Janssen, Patricia (Raymond) Taylor, Nancy (Jerry) Pollard; 20 grandchildren; and 25 great grandchildren. He also leaves numerous, loved nieces and nephews.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Iris Richardson.
Frank never met a stranger and made friends everywhere he went. Frank leaves behind a legacy of laughter, adventure and love. He will be missed greatly by his family and many friends.
Frank was a devoted Christian and member of the Community Bible Church of Manchester at 8400 Sharon Hollow Road, Manchester, MI 48158, where donations may be made in lieu of flowers.
Frank’s family and friends will gather from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m., on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Eineder Funeral Homes – Brooklyn Chapel and from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at the Community Bible Church of Manchester. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at the Community Bible Church of Manchester. Burial will follow at Napoleon Oak Grove Cemetery in Jackson, MI. Pastor Ron Clark will officiate.
