Frank Robert Molica's Obituary
Age 94, of Michigan Center, passed away Sunday, August 14, 2016. He was born February 22, 1922 in Niles, MI to Rosario and Nancy Molica. Frank was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shirley (2016); daughter, Christine Molica Field (1998); son, Mark Molica (2008) and siblings, Nicki, Joan, Mary, Phil, Robert, Henry and Anthony. He is survived by a step-son, Anthony Molica; siblings, Fanny, Alfred and Benny; special niece, Carole (Bill) Loll; dear friend, Jack Ady and special caregivers, Tracy and Jim Petty, who thought of both Frank and Shirley as their loving grandparents. Upon graduation from Niles High School in 1941, that same day he started working for Clark Equipment Company, retiring as General Superintendent of Manufacturing with 47 years of service to the company. In January of 1943, Frank was inducted into the Army, serving in World War II as did four of his brothers (Phil, Henry, Alfred and Ben), all returning home to a grateful nation and mother. He was very proud of his military service as an ambulance driver, serving in battles at Omaha Beach in Normandy to the Battle of the Bulge in the Ardennes. He was awarded five campaign stars for: Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Central Europe and the Ardennes. Per his wishes, Frank has been cremated and private services were held. His ashes, together with his wife Shirley's, were buried at Leoni Cemetery on the family plot.
