Gabriel "Gabe" Andrew Bakun's Obituary
Gabriel (Gabe) Andrew Bakun, also known as "Sliver," of Munith, MI passed away unexpectedly Saturday, February 22, 2025 at Henry Ford Hospital in Jackson, MI. Gabe was born in L'Anse, MI on July 23, 1982, the son of Susan (Leppanen) Kinsey of Baraga, MI and late Gerald "Slab" Bakun. Gabe graduated from Baraga High School in 2001. He went on to become a Journeyman Commercial Electrician and was busy raising his four daughters Gabrielle, Genna, Grace, and Gessica who are a testament of the man he was. Gabe poured everything into being a father and was always putting his daughters above all. Gabe was a friend to everyone and loved fiercely. He always had a way of making people laugh and feel cared for. Gabe is survived by his four daughters (mother, Kathy Curley,) his mother, Susan Kinsey (Kevin) of Baraga, MI, his grandmother Gloria Neimisto of Baraga, MI, his sisters Ivy Bakun (Kenny, Dylan, Kylie, Libby) of Baraga, MI, Alyssa Bakun of Tampa, FL, Maija Ouellette (Sam, Harrison, Lucy) of Houghton, MI as well as numerous extended family and friends. Gabe would want people to smile when thinking of his memory and reflecting on his life. Gabe will be missed by many.
A celebration of life will be held for Gabe Bakun on March 8th, 2025 at IBEW Local 252 Union Hall, 7920 Jackson Rd Ann Arbor, MI from 1pm-3pm. There will be a celebration of life held in the UP at a later date.
