Gary Gilbert Martin's Obituary
Aged 89, of Summit Township, passed away December 1, 2020 at his son's home surrounded by his loving family and under the care of Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice. He is survived by three children; Bruce (Jenny) Martin of Mansfield, Ohio, Beth (Denny) Morse and Brian (Melissa) Martin, both of Jackson, ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and his sister-in-law; Joyce Martin. He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Marilyn Mae (maiden-Wangerow), parents; Earnest L. and Pauline M. (maiden-Brown) Martin, brother; John Martin and an infant great grandson; Connor Martin. He served the nation in the US Army. Gary was a retiree of Consumers Energy and enjoyed travelling. He was a long-time member of the Michigan Center Bible Church. After retirement he and his late wife spent three to four months each winter for sixteen years doing volunteer work at the New Tribes Mission Homes in Sanford, Florida. Services will be held at the Grace Church (2692 North Dettman Road) on Friday, December 4, 2020 at 1 PM with visitation to be held at the church from noon to 1 PM. Pastor James Walling will be officiating. Interment will be at the Roseland Memorial Gardens. Military Honors will be offered at the cemetery by the Jackson County American Legion Ritual Team. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Michigan Center Bible Church.
