Gary Lyn Vian's Obituary
Vian, Gary
Jackson, Michigan
Gary Lyn Vian, 70, of Jackson, Michigan, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, May 29, 2026, at Henry Ford Hospital in Jackson, MI. Gary’s family and friends will gather to celebrate his life on June 3, 2026 at 1:00p.m. at Gene Davis and Son’s, 3575 Francis St, Jackson, MI 49203
Gary was born on February 20, 1956, in Jackson, Michigan, to Lynwood and Dorla (Lapp) Vian. He was graduate of 1974, from Michigan Center high school. Gary was employed at General Products where he worked for nearly 25 years. Prior to his tenure at General Product, he worked for Clark Equipment and Good Year. He met the love of his life, Jacqueline, and they married on July 2, 1993, in Jackson, Michigan. He will be remembered as a very stubborn, but punctual man, always early for work and events. He loved to fish and camp, and while camping, when a project was started, you would find him perched on his golf cart, “supervising”, making sure it was “done right”. With his great sense of humor, he wore goofy hats and was lovingly known as “Donkey” or “Pappa Poop”. But most of all his greatest joy was his family especially his grandchildren, often sitting on the floor playing with them and always attending their sporting events. His legacy will live on in all those who knew and loved him.
Gary will be missed by his wife, Jacqueline; his children, Carrie (Wil) Thorne, Creg (Tasha) Vian, Jennifer (Michael) Browning, Jessica (Colleen) Hoffmaster; brother, Kevin (Amy) Vian; grandchildren, Shelby, Thomas, Jozlynn, Zaden, Jayla, Makailyn, Owen; his special niece, Davina (Joe) Jaycox; and many other relatives. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lynwood and Dorla Vian; and his grandson, Nathan Thorne.
