With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Gavin Daylynn Sanford, whose life brought love, laughter, and light to all who knew him.
Gavin Daylynn Sanford was born on December 20, 2006, at Foote Hospital in Jackson, Michigan. He was the beloved son of Brandy Villegas and Brandon Sanford, and was lovingly raised by his stepfather, Darrione Miles, along with a special father figure, Dion Rogers.
Gavin had a wonderful sense of humor and a natural gift for making others laugh. He had a way of bringing joy into every room he entered and left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He cherished spending time with his family and especially enjoyed playing video games with his siblings. Gavin had a passion for sports, particularly football and baseball, and music was truly the love of his life.
Gavin was determined to finish school at Michigan Center High School and was nearly finished with his 11th-grade year. He will be remembered as fun-loving, playful, and full of personality—always joking and picking on his cousins in a loving way. He was very handsome and carried a bright, unforgettable smile. Gavin will be especially missed for his beautiful hair and the pride he took in caring for it.
On April 27, 2026, in the afternoon, Gavin was called home to be with the Lord.
He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Brandy Villegas, and stepfather, Darrione Miles; his father, Brandon Sanford; his siblings, Jordan, Lorenzo, and Dionee; his grandparents, Kimberly and Roy Villegas, Ray Overton and Heidi Vantassel, Deanna Donaldson, John Rider, and Chuck and Deb; his aunts, Laci V., Amanda A., Brooke, Debbie C., and Rebecca O.; his uncles, Roy, Alex, Joe, Rob, and Tom Chambers; his bonus aunts, Eboni, Ezaria, and Emijah; and a host of cousins on both sides of the family.
Special cousins who held a meaningful place in Gavin’s heart include Lizaya, LaChrista, Lamir, Christen, and Ashley, along with his best friends, Cody and Ashton.
Gavin is preceded in death by his beloved Granny G, Mamaw, Great-Grandpa Charles, Edwin Chambers, Russ Chambers, and Emarion Flowers.
Gathering and Service Information
Visitation~Thursday, May 7, 2026, 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and Friday May 8, 2026, 10:00 a.m. - 11:00a.m. with his funeral service to follow at 11:a.m. at Einender Funeral Homes – Michigan Center Chapel 820 Fifth St. Michigan Center, MI 48254
Pastor Kenneth Bass will serve as celebrant
Interment will follow immediately after the service at Leoni Cemetery
