Gay Lee Halstead's Obituary
Gay Halstead, of Jackson County, MI, passed away in peace on Saturday, February 17, 2024. Gay was a beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. She had a special place in her heart for her horses. She loved all animals, camping, games, family, and the outdoors. She was a member of the Jackson Western Horsemen Club for many years. She made a lot of great friends who love to ride the trails and camping. She was a well-respected individual that retired from Aeroquip. Gay loved to travel and have new experiences. She was a great neighbor and friend. Gay will be missed dearly. She is preceded in death by her husband Robert W. Halstead; her parents Gerald and Elizabeth Cochrane; her brothers Paul and Pete Cochrane; and her sister Hope Cochrane. Gay is survived by her sister Joy Dake; her brother John Cochrane; her Daughter Beth Halstead; her Son Rusty and daughter-in-law Judy Halstead. Grandchildren; Jessica Fuller (Nathan), Tamera Halstead-Proctor (Luke), Patrick Halstead (Jessica), Robert Halstead (Whitney). Great grandchildren; Wyatt Atwood, Browning Halstead, Tate Halstead, Carson Fuller, Kyle Proctor, Adalyn Halstead and Kylee Fuller. She had many nieces and nephews, and was also blessed with many ‘bonus’ grandchildren and ‘bonus’ great grandchildren. We will be gathering Tuesday, February 20, 2024, from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Eineder Funeral Homes, Michigan Center Chapel, 820 5th St. Michigan Center, MI 49254. The Celebration of Life will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at Eineder Funeral Homes, Michigan Center Chapel, 820 5th St. Michigan Center, MI 49254. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, prior to the service. Gay’s family would like to thank all of the staff from, Heart to Heart Hospice of Jackson, and Mission Point Care Home.
