Gene’s family and friends will gather from 4:00p.m. – 6:00p.m. on Friday September 19, 2025 at Eineder Funeral Homes – Michigan Center Chapel. Gene was born on April 9, 1934, in Detroit, Michigan to William and Edith (Thurgood) Willi. Gene married the love of his life, Bobbie and their love grew for 36 plus years until her passing in 2006. He will be remembered as a passionate bowler, so much so, you could find Gene hitting the lanes 4 nights a week. He and Bobbie traveled to many bowling tournaments over the years, winning awards and truly loving the game. Gene was a huge Tigers fan, watching or listening to all of their games. As an avid RV’er, he traveled with his family to over 30 states. Gene had a desire to serve his community and was well known in the Napoleon Lion’s club, with a very active roll with the “Leos”. He was a handyman that could fix anything, lovingly knick-named “MacGyver”. But most of all, Gene’s greatest pride and joy in life were his grandchildren.
Gene will be missed by his children, Michelle Willi and Gene (Melissa) Willi Jr.; grandchildren, Gene Willi III, Cody Gragg, Katy Gragg and Dana Willi; He is preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie, his parents, William and Edith, and his sister Audrey.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Napoleon Lion’s “Leos” club. Please leave a message of comfort for Gene’s family or sign his guestbook at www.EinederFuneralHomes.com.
