George Edward Crane's Obituary
Crane, George Edward Age 75, of Michigan Center, passed away at his home September 5, 2013. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Pat; three sons, Randall (Melissa) Crane, Mark (Pamela) Crane and Andrew Crane; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Judy Main; three brothers-in-law, Ken (Rob Tipton) Baxter, David Baxter and Larry (Kaye) Baxter; his aunt, Violette Neel and many cousins, nephews and nieces. George served 13 years in the US Army Reserve attaining the rank of Staff Sgt., had worked at F.P. Miller, Georgia Pacific, worked as a millwright and was then the Maintenance Supervisor for Jacobsons. He served as Cubmaster of Pack #395 and Scoutmaster of Troop #495; was a member of the American Legion Rose City Post, the Michigan Center Eagles, Jackson Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons #17 and the Michigan Center Lions Club, serving as president and then going on to the Lions Multiple District 11-B-1 Vice-Governor in 1999-2000 and District Governor in 2000-2001. Services will be held at the funeral home Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at 11 am with Rev. Jennifer Jue officiating. Interment Leoni Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Sunday 2-4 & 6-8 pm and Monday 6-8pm. A Masonic Memorial Service will be held Sunday 7:30 pm and a Lions Memorial Service will be held Monday 7:30 pm. Contributions in his memory are directed to the Michigan Center Lions Club.
