George J. Kurzynowski, formerly of Michigan Center, MI, passed away on June 7, 2026, at the age of 96. He was born February 22, 1930, in Jackson, MI, to Stanley and Frances (Markiewicz) Kurzynowski (both deceased). He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased in death by his siblings and their spouses, Victoria (Louis) Kusiak, Annette (Roger) Sharpe, Adam (Sophia), John, Edward (Emma), Frank (Pauline), Leo (Wanda), and Theodore (Bernice) Kurzynowski.
George retired from Kelsey Hayes (TRW) after 30 years of employment. Following retirement, he worked for Jackson Harness Raceway for many years.
Prior to the COVID pandemic, George could be found every morning at the Target café in the Jackson Crossing sharing stories with fellow walkers. He appreciated the long-lasting friendships he made there. He also had a fondness for casinos. The highlight of his memories was when he pitched baseball while a young man on various Jackson leagues with his brothers. Most notable were a few “no hitter” games.
The family would like to thank the staff of Henry Ford Hospice Home and Legacy Assisted Living for their exceptional care and support.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 913 Napoleon Road, Michigan Center, Michigan, on Friday, June 12, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Amolorpavanathan Rayapillai, SdC officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to Mass at the church.
