Gerald D. Frey's Obituary
Age 81, of Grass Lake, passed away at his winter home in Sierra Vista, AZ on Saturday, January 23, 2016 under the loving care of his family and hospice. He was born, April 12, 1934 in Ann Arbor to Louis and Vera (Gauss) Frey of Manchester, MI. Gerald is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Dolores (Coppernoll) Frey; seven children, Stephen and Tamara (Guild) Frey, Louis Frey, Anthony Frey, Gerald and Sally (Hunt) Frey, Jr., Diana Thomas, John Frey and Jeff Frey; 37 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Christopher Frey; grandson, Andrew Louis Frey; great-grandchild, MaKenna Frey and two sisters, Helen Craft and Wanda Patrick. Gerald was a retiree of Michigan Gas Storage after 37 A½ years of service; he was a Naval Reservist and farmer. He was an avid traveler, visiting all 50 states and 18 foreign countries. As his granddaughter stated: a wonderful grandpa, father, husband and best friend; he was an amazing man. He was a Parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Michigan Center where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 1, 2016 at 11:00 am with Father Tim MacDonald officiating. A luncheon will follow the services and then interment will take place at Saint Mary Catholic Cemetery in Manchester. Visitation will be held at Nichols-Arthur Funeral Home in Michigan Center on Sunday from 1 to 5 pm and at the church on Monday beginning at 10:00 am.
