Gerald Cles Morris' Obituary
Age 77, of Michigan Center, passed away December 3, 2014 at Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit, Michigan. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Rosemarie (maiden-Huston) Morris, seven children, Keith (Angela) Morris, Kathy (Brian) Derby, Gerald (Phyllis) Morris Jr., Jeannette (Brian) Zaporski, Paul (Patty) Morris, Susan (Travis) Reeves and Robert Strathmann, sixteen grandchildren , two great-grandchildren, sisters, Shirley Willhite and Dianne (Mike) Dettloff, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleston and Dorothy (maiden-Kay) Morris. Gerald served the Nation in the US Marine Corps, retired from AT &T, was past president and longtime active member of the Michigan Center Lions Club, serving many years as the Sight Conservation Chairman and earning the honor of becoming a Melvin Jones Fellow, was a longtime member and past-president of the Michigan Gem and Mineral Society and in later years, was the lead driver for the I-94 Vehicle Auction in Parma, MI. Services will be held at the funeral home Monday, December 8, 2014 at 11 am with Father David Oancea of the Romanian Orthodox Episcopate officiating. Cremation will follow the services. Visitation will be held Sunday evening, 6-8 pm with a Lions Memorial Service at 6:30 pm. Veterans Honors will be offered by the Jackson County American Legion Ritual Team.
