Her life's work and legacy was creating a loving home and raising three sons and three daughters who were all by her side celebrating Christmas Eve and Christmas Day together helping her pass into the welcoming arms of Jesus shortly after midnight on Christmas night: Kimberly (Michael) Buchholz of Gainesville, Fla.; James Capen of Livonia, Mich.; Tashya Capen of Orlando, Fla.; John (Shannon) Capen of Taylor, Mich.; William (Heather) Capen of Jackson, Mich.; and, Jamie (Barry) Meyer of Gilletts Lake, Mich. Her heart was also filled with the joy of two great-grandchildren, Monte Wilson, 5, and Nylah Vasquez, who is due to be born in March. To list every niece, nephew, cousin, aunt, uncle, neighbor, and sister-friend with a special bond with Gloria would be impossible, for it has been said more times than can be counted how unique a relationship so many people had with her. Though not listed by name here, each knew how special the bond between them was and Gloria knew it, too, expressing her love and appreciation for them many times in her final days. A funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. Monday, December 28, 2014, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 911 Napoleon Road, Michigan Center, Mich., 49254 with Father Tim McDonald officiating.
