Gordon Eugene Harris' Obituary
Gordon Eugene Harris, 88, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at the Jackson Medical Care Facility, Jackson.
He was born on July 1, 1934, in Jackson, Michigan to Eugene and Neva (Kleile) Harris. Gordon married the love of his life, Marjorie Ford, on June 14, 1953, in Jackson, Michigan. They would have been married 70 years this year. Gordon retired from Consumers Power after 35 years. He will be remembered as a patient, understanding man that loved his family and his faith. He never met a stranger. Gordon had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh with his jokes. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed the outdoors. Gordon was a member of the Jackson Seventh Day Adventist Church. One of his favorite pastimes was welding wrought iron and feeding the birds. He and Marjorie enjoyed their family gatherings and many winters in Florida. Gordon will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Gordon is survived by his wife, Marjorie; his children, LuAnn Ley, Kathleen (Gary) Parker, and Cheryl Messner; a brother, Donald (Barb) Harris; grandchildren Trent (Lori) Parker, Ryan (Lisa) Ley, Stacey Richardson, Terra Reed, Casey (Michael) Stein, Tracy (Nick) Moore and Trevon Parker; 12 great grandchildren; 5 great - great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Neva; and his sister, Diane Taylor; and twin daughters, Susan Lynn and Sharon Lee Harris.
