Grace Louise Chambers, 96, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 7, 2020. She was born on August 22, 1924, in Woodstock Township, Michigan to Floyd and Geraldine (Blakley) Baker. Grace married the love of her life, the late Jack Chambers, on June 7, 1946, in Brooklyn, Michigan. She will be remembered for her colorful personality. Grace could be feisty and stubborn, but always good hearted. She was very opinionated and strongly believed in education for her children. Grace was a very supportive mother that prepared her children for school and life. She enjoyed camping, gardening, yard work and her flowers. Grace was happily married for 63 years and loved spending time with her family. She was employed at Foote Hospital in Jackson as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the Geriatric Ward, retiring after 19 years of service. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Grace is survived by her children, James (Helen) Chambers and Jacquelyn Ladd; grandchildren Raymond, James, Brent and Cory; and several great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, stepfather Glynn W. Lewis, her husband Albert “Jack” Chambers and son-in-law Raymond Ladd.
Grace’s family and friends will gather Saturday, September 12, 2020 from 9:00 am – 10:00 am at Eineder Funeral Homes, Brooklyn Chapel with her funeral service to follow at 10:00 am. Interment to follow at Cement City Cemetery, Cement City. Pastor Drew Woods will serve as celebrant. Memorial contributions are suggested to Jackson Crouch Senior Center.
