H. Jean McIntee's Obituary
With profound sadness the family of Jean McIntee, of Jackson, announces her passing after a long illness on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at the age of 91. Jean married Lawrence "Mac" McIntee in 1951 and they remained married until his death in 2008. She is survived by four children, David (Jackie), Mary Jane (Ron), Kevin and Daniel (Susan), six grandchildren, Jessica (Joe), Nathaniel (Stephanie), Elizabeth (Morgan), Megan, Gaelen and Aidan, four great-grandchildren, Hazel, Julian, Henry and Kazhmere, two sisters, Dorothy DeFrates and Alice (Malcolm) Sturgill. Besides her beloved husband she was preceded in death by her son, William, three sisters, Margaret Claucherty, Mary Jane Cousins and Patricia Hoyt, and parents, Charles and Amelia (Peniston) Cousins. She was a wonderful mother and homemaker, a loving wife, a tireless advocate for her children, strong willed, gentle and fair-minded. In her long life she endured personal tragedies and triumphs, seeing all of her children graduate from college, along the way enjoying pursuits such as travel, knitting, reading and square dancing. As only the best mothers can do, Jean was a thoroughly positive influence on her family. She has left the world a better place and will be greatly missed. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church Thursday, May 4, 2017 at 10 am with Father Richard Eberle officiating. Interment St. Johns Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Wednesday 2-4 & 6-8 pm with a Scripture Service at 7 pm. Contributions in her memory are directed to the Jackson County Department on Aging.
