Harry Clark Lawrence's Obituary
Harry Clark Lawrence, 87, of Michigan Center, MI, passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Henry Ford Hospital in Jackson, MI. Harry’s family and friends will gather from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., on Monday, December 1, 2025, at Eineder Funeral Homes – Brooklyn Chapel. His funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Rod Walker from Harmony Baptist Church of Jackson, MI, will officiate. A private burial of ashes will take place at a later date at Highland Cemetery in Brooklyn, MI.
He was born on April 9, 1938, in Jackson, MI, to Harry and Olive (Bailey) Lawrence. Harry graduated from Napoleon High School in 1981. He married the love of his life, Nila Lawrence, on February 14, 1958, in Brooklyn, MI. Harry grew up in Brooklyn, MI and then moved to Michigan Center 15 years ago. He loved to work, so he explored many different types of jobs, including being an assembly worker at Ford Motor Company and being a volunteer fire fighter for Brooklyn. Harry was a member of the Odd Fellows. He loved to collect pop cans. Harry attended Harmony Baptist Church in Jackson, MI, where he was a member for many years. He loved attending church and loved the Lord. Harry’s church was his second family. He would open his home and his heart to the community, where he would help care for those who were homeless or struggling. Harry would let them stay in his home or he would donate money or buy needed items for those individuals. He was truly a compassionate, loving individual, who cared for any one in need. Harry’s favorite people to care for were his family. He loved being a father, a grandfather and a great grandfather. Harry will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Harry will be missed by his children, Rita Hall, Robin Adams, Terry (Rebecca) Lawrence and Steve (Jennie) Lawrence; his siblings, Betty Reeder and Gladwin McGee; 22 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; his best friend, Amamdo and his family and Bob Rolls; many extended family members; and his second family, at Harmony Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Olive; his wife of 50 + years, Nila; and his friends, Robert M. and CJ Moore.
