Hazael E. ""Vine"" Choate's Obituary
Age 85, of Brooklyn, passed away at Florida Hospital-Tampa March 22, 2015. He is survived by three children, Karan (George) Cox, Rhoda (Tim) Lewis and Gail (Mark) Maybee, his companion of the last three years, Jan Johnson, nine grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, sister-in-law Leah Green, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Lillian V. (maiden-Silveus) Choate in 2010, two sons, Arthur L. and Bradley L. Choate, his parents, William F. and Bessie J. (maiden-Sutfin) Choate, five brothers, two sisters and their spouses. Vine was the owner of LJ Beal's Trucking in Brooklyn where his career spanned 52 years, he served the community with the Brooklyn Fire Department retiring as Chief, was a Wolverine fan and he and his late wife were fixtures at his grandchildren's many sporting events. Services will be held at the funeral home Friday, March 27, 2015 at 2 pm with Pastors Kevin Cherry and Milan Maybee officiating. Interment Oak Grove Cemetery, Napoleon. Visitation will be Thursday evening 6-8 pm and one hour prior to service time. Contributions in his memory are directed to the Columbia Township Fire Department.
